Veterans Administration

Goal: To provide 13,000 sf of quality space for a key government agency to meet their tight time and budget constraints.

Veterans Administration

Means: Accent Construction strategized with the client early in the pre-construction process to identity recycle / reuse alternatives and the use of local suppliers.

Challenge: There were a number of changes in the scope of work yet the Veterans Administration was pressured to maintain critical operations. Additionally, as a government agency, the VA was required to look for the best value with all their decisions.

Solution: Accent took care in the de-construction process to safeguard re-use materials (doors, frames, hardware, ceiling tiles) and introduced the VA to cabinetry with a three week delivery time.  These efforts contributed to providing the value desired while controlling costs and maintaining the schedule.

Result: The staff is excited about having a space with design appeal that they can be proud of and the folks in Washington were comfortable with the price tag and time line.

"I have worked with Accent Construction for close to five years, through three different property managers. Throughout our relationship, I have noticed that Accent really understands the needs and demands of both the tenant and the building owner. Their team makes my job easier because I know I can always count on Accent to work alongside me to solve problems from the first pre-construction meeting to the final job close-out… and their commitment to providing comprehensive on-site supervision keeps our properties clean and safe."
