Founded in 1996, Accent Construction, LLC is a full service, unlimited licensed North Carolina general contractor. Accent is committed to satisfying your building needs while providing environmentally-friendly tenant finish construction. Many of our projects are tenant upfits for businesses and medical practices occupying between 2,000 square feet and 50,000 square feet of office space. These construction projects range from $100K to $1.5M in construction costs, with an average of approximately $500K. Our team includes project managers and superintendents with experience working on projects of $5M+ in construction costs. Accent Construction was awarded the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) WasteWise Small Business Partner of the Year in 2008. The Company is certified as a Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBENC).

Lori Eichel, Partner Lori has over 25 years experience in business development, sales and marketing in design-driven industries. She has been a partner in Accent Construction since 2000 and in recent years has taken on a strategic role in the organization of the company. With the addition of financial management along with sales, marketing and customer service responsibilities, Lori is acting President of Accent Construction.

Lori's career has been marked by entrepreneurial achievements — starting and leading a department in a major national corporation, starting and leading a new business unit in a premier international company and starting her own technology-based, venture capital-backed design resource company for which she won the Council of Entrepreneurial Development (CED) Fast Tracker of the Year Award. Her company was acquired and is still active today.

Lori holds a Master of Product Design degree from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Florida. She serves on the board of The Women's Center in Chapel Hill and is an active member of NC Triangle Chapter of USGBC where she serves as the Membership Chair and Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW) serving on the program committee. Lori is a long time member of the Council of Entrepreneurial Development (CED) where she is a certified Fast Trac instructor. In 2008, Lori earned her LEED Accredited Professional (LEED-AP) credential in LEED Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI).

Jim Eichel, VP of Operations

Jim Eichel, President Jim brings over 35 years of construction project management and project engineering experience to his leadership position at Accent Construction.  His capabilities include expertise in pre-construction coordination, office-building tenant finish construction, tenant coordination/property management, construction management and project closeout.

Jim launched his career in construction in the Army Corp of Engineers as a Regular Army officer (Airborne Ranger).  This service was followed by management work with major construction firms in Denver, CO and Raleigh, NC.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University, a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University, and holds a Real Property Administrator Certification from the Building Owners and Managers Institute. Eichel served on the board of BOMA Carolinas - West Virginia for 10 years including serving as President. Accent is a member of  the Chapel Hill Chamber of Commerce where Jim is a past member of the board as well as the Triangle Chapter of USGBC and Sustainable North Carolina.
